Privacy

Last updated: 3 May 2026

This privacy notice explains how RPEL GmbH processes personal data on rpel.ch. The Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) is the primary legal basis. For visitors located in the EU, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies in addition.

1. Controller

Please direct any privacy enquiries to the same address. A separate data protection officer is not legally required and has not been appointed.

2. What data we process

2.1 Server logs

When you visit rpel.ch our server records technically necessary information: IP address (anonymised or shortened), date and time of the request, page accessed, amount of data transferred, referring URL, browser, and operating system. This data is used solely to operate the site reliably, diagnose errors and defend against attacks. It is not combined with other data and is deleted after no more than 30 days.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website (Art. 31(2)(a) revFADP / Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

2.2 Contact form

When you use the contact form you provide your name, e-mail address, optional company name and a message. We process these details solely to respond to your request. We do not share them with third parties for advertising purposes.

Legal basis: pre-contractual measures and legitimate interest in answering your request (Art. 31(2) revFADP / Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Retention: until your request is concluded; data is then deleted unless statutory retention obligations apply.

2.3 Cookies

We only set strictly necessary cookies. Specifically: a language cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) that stores your preferred language. We do not use tracking, analytics or third-party cookies.

2.4 Fonts

We use the typefaces Viga, Fira Sans and JetBrains Mono. These are downloaded once at build time and served from our own server (next/font). When you visit rpel.ch, no connection to Google Fonts or other external font providers is made; your IP address is not transmitted to any third party.

3. Recipients and processors

We use carefully selected service providers, all of whom are contractually bound to comply with data protection rules:

  • Hosting — rpel.ch runs on a Coolify server we operate ourselves, in a data centre located in Switzerland or the European Union. No external cloud host independently accesses the site contents.
  • E-mail delivery for the contact form — Messages submitted via the contact form are delivered to our address [email protected] through an e-mail delivery service (SMTP or transactional mail provider). A data processing agreement is in place with that provider. The specific provider will be named here once finalised.

4. Transfers to third countries

We prefer service providers based in Switzerland or the EU. If individual processors (such as the e-mail delivery provider) are based in a third country without an adequate level of data protection by law, we rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards, and we review the level of protection regularly. As long as only providers based in Switzerland or the EU are used, no transfer to third countries takes place.

5. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access to the data we hold about you
  • Rectification of inaccurate data
  • Erasure, unless statutory retention obligations apply
  • Restriction of processing
  • Data portability (delivery in a common electronic format)
  • Objection to processing based on a legitimate interest
  • Withdrawal of consent with effect for the future

An informal e-mail to [email protected] is sufficient. We reserve the right to verify your identity by appropriate means.

6. Supervisory authorities

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority:

  • Switzerland: Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern — edoeb.admin.ch
  • EU: the data protection authority of your country of residence or habitual location.

7. Security

rpel.ch is fully encrypted using TLS (HTTPS). We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, manipulation and unauthorised access, and update these in line with the state of the art.

8. Changes to this notice

We may amend this privacy notice, for example if legal requirements or our processing activities change. The version published on rpel.ch is the version that applies.

The German version of this privacy notice is legally binding. This English text is provided as a courtesy translation.
